Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my Mom, Ann Searing's, 82nd birthday!  I am a lucky girl, because I have the best mom in the whole world.  I write that with conviction; I have lived and seen a lot and nobody has a better mom then me. (And of course, my brother and sisters, but I am the favorite!) Can you tell I am the baby in the family? :)

Some of my newfound savings mentality definitely comes from my parents.  We didn't have a lot of money growing up, but it always felt like we had plenty.  No one could make a dollar go further then my mom and dad.  To this day, I think they could tell us where every penny they have has gone.  Maybe its finally started to rub off on me?

My mom has given me a lot more then a way to save money.  She has always been there for me. Even now, as I grown woman I call her for advice.  And she is one tough cookie.  She's been through a lot including breast cancer and 2 broken hips(35 years apart, no less).  She's taught me and my siblings by example how to live life and stay strong.  She's raised 4 successful children and has 5 grandchildren that absolutely adore her.  She has friends that she's known since she was a little girl and friends that she met last year.  She is an avid reader ; I sometimes think they'll run out of books for her to read!
